Morning Report for iOS · Effective 24 July 2026

Morning Report reads your calendar, reminders, inbox, and location to build a single daily brief. All of it is processed on your device. Misochi operates no server, and none of this data is transmitted to us.

The short version

What the app accesses

Each source below is optional and individually controlled in Settings. The app requests permission at the moment you enable a source, and works without any of them.

SourceWhat is readWhy
Calendar Today's events: title, start and end time, location To list your day's schedule in the brief
Reminders Incomplete reminders due today, plus overdue ones: title and due date To surface what is due in the brief
Location Approximate location while using the app, to roughly one kilometer To retrieve local weather conditions
Gmail (off by default) Sender, subject, and a short preview snippet of recent messages, plus your unread count To identify the few emails worth knowing about before your day starts

Gmail access is read-only

If you choose to connect a Google account, the app requests a single permission: read-only Gmail access (gmail.readonly). It cannot send, modify, archive, label, or delete anything in your mailbox. It does not read attachments, and it does not download full message bodies — only the sender, subject, and the short preview snippet Google returns.

You sign in with Google directly. Your Google password is never seen by or shared with the app.

How your data is used

Everything the app reads is used for one purpose: assembling your daily brief. It is not repurposed, profiled, sold, or used to train any model.

Email prioritization — deciding which messages matter and which category they belong to — runs entirely on your device, using Apple's on-device language models where available and on-device text embeddings otherwise. Your email content is not sent to any external service for this, including any third-party AI service.

Third parties

Two companies receive data as a direct consequence of using the app. Neither receives it from us; the app talks to them from your device.

Apple

To show weather, the app sends your approximate location to Apple's WeatherKit service to retrieve local conditions. Apple's handling is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Google

If you connect a Google account, the app authenticates with Google and requests your messages from the Gmail API. This is your own account and your own data; Google's handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

There are no other third parties. No analytics provider, no crash reporter, no advertising network, no data broker.

What is stored, and where

The app stores the following locally on your device only:

None of this is backed up to a Misochi server, because none exists. It may be included in your own iCloud or encrypted device backups, under your control and Apple's terms.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, the app schedules a local morning notification whose text may include a short preview of your brief. It is generated and delivered on your device and is not routed through any push server.

Your choices

There is no account to delete and no deletion request to file, because we hold nothing about you. If you believe we somehow hold data about you, write to kevin@misochi.com and we will respond.

Children

Morning Report is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes and the revised policy is posted here. Material changes affecting how your data is handled will be surfaced in the app.
